The Materials Modeling Research Group’s mission is to develop fundamental and applied science and engineering of structural and functional materials systems, commodity polymers, energy storage materials, biomaterials, and biomimetics. Multiscale theory and simulations, ranging from atomistic to macroscopic, are used to model the synthesis, processing, characterization, and performance of materials and devices. The validation of the multiscale simulations is done through extensive international and local collaborations with experimental groups, academic and industrial research centers, and government laboratories.
